Consistory Run Like the Synod: Only two hours are reserved for open interventions during the Consistory on 26–27 June. The majority of the meeting is structured around small-group discussions. The cardinals are divided into 20 groups, each of which prepares a written report. Only nine groups are scheduled to present their reports in the plenary session. Discussion of the Just War doctrine was anticipated based on earlier Vatican communications, but it is absent from the final agenda. Cardinals can communicate directly with Leo XIV via an email address provided for this purpose.

Father Matthieu Raffray: "As a Christian, I believe that there is only one religion, one truth, and one path: Christ himself. Thus, naturally, every Christian wishes for people to turn to Christ, to get to know Jesus Christ, and for all false religions to gradually disappear.”

Will Your Faith Survive The Apostasy? In the first reading today, we hear the story of Elijah and Elisha, highlighting Elisha’s unwavering faith and desire to inherit a double portion of Elijah’s spirit. This spirit, associated with prophecy, prayer, and extraordinary works, is seen as a divine gift passed down through generations. A parallel is drawn between Elijah’s time and the present, urging us to remain faithful and persevere in our love for God amidst challenges and apostasy. Fr. An Illinois judge ruled last week that the Archdiocese of Chicago may continue its lawsuit against a group of people accused of making false sexual abuse claims. The lawsuit, filed in 2025, says that more than two dozen people took part in a plan to make false abuse accusations in order to receive money from settlement payments by the archdiocese. According to court documents, the group allegedly recruited people to make claims, coached them on what to say, and shared the money received from settlements. The archdiocese says its investigation was helped by recorded prison phone calls in which the alleged scheme was discussed. The recent ruling does not decide whether the allegations are true. It only rejects efforts to dismiss the case and allows the Archdiocese's lawsuit to continue. The abuse claims involve former priest Daniel McCormack, who pleaded guilty in 2007 to several counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and has many confirmed victims. Cardinal Blase Cupich said the Church …আরও
St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto has gone totally pride. From flying the pride flag to rainbow sidewalks to the Drag Show. "Display your pride." It's all about pride in pride. In 2024, in a letter to a Toronto city councillor the St. Michael's President David G. Sylvester writes: The St. Michael’s College Student Union (SMCSU) has requested that a Pride crosswalk with rainbow colours be painted between the John M. Kelly Library and Elmsley Place on St. Joseph Street. The University of St. Michael’s College administration and I enthusiastically support this proposal and commit to the costs associated with the project, as outlined to us, on the University’s behalf. St. Michael’s is a place that welcomes and celebrates the infinite God-given dignity of those who identify as part of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. From its Inclusiveness Policy, to its Strategic Plan, to the installation of the Progress Pride Flag on the John M. Kelly Library last summer, St. Michael’s …
On Saturday, more than 1,000 Catholics took part in a Eucharistic Rosary procession through Derry in Northern Ireland. The procession was part of the first Worldwide Marian Procession, held in conjunction with around 400 parishes and 50 Marian shrines worldwide. The public prayer, which brought the streets to a standstill, was supported by Bishop Donal McKeown of Derry.
As the video on this link points out, this book is an excellent guide for converts - which I was, 25 years ago when I bought this little treasure for myself at a local Catholic bookstore. Truly, Of Mary There is NEVER ENOUGH
Protestant Prayer and the Catholic Mass as “Different Pathways to God”: “Catholic” U.S. Vice President JD Vance appeared to relativize the Catholic Church and the Eucharist during a June 16 interview on Fox & Friends. Speaking about what he called the strength of “the American church,” Vance emphasized the diversity of [contradicting] Christian denominations: “You can't be an American Catholic or an American Pentecostal or an American Southern Baptist without running into someone who has a slightly different perspective on faith.” He added: “It's all about Jesus.” Vance sees "different ways" by which people find God: “Different ways, sometimes with 'snake handlers' [evangelicals in Kentucky], sometimes with speaking in tongues, sometimes with a beautiful Catholic mass, but I think all these pathways really matter and they're part of the reason why we do find our path to God.”
JD Vance: "One of the things I love about the American church is there are all of these different pathways to God ... sometimes with snake handlers, sometimes with speaking in tongues, sometimes with a beautiful Catholic mass. But I think all of these pathways really matter."

"Devil" Beer Tap in Belgian Confessional: A deconsecrated church built in 1878 in Antwerp, Belgium, has served as a foyer for Theater Elckerlyc since 2025. One confessional now contains a token machine, while another has been fitted with a self-service Duvel 6.66% beer tap. "Duvel" is Dutch for "devil" and is also the name of a Belgian beer brand. An earlier report claimed the diocese had approved the concept, but the article was corrected on 10 June: the diocese says it was not involved in the redevelopment.
I went to their website - heilighartbrouwerij.be/page/foto-s and I could not find any images with Bart Simpson or 666 on any of the images inside this deconsecrated church. Hmmmmmmmmmmm...............
Pope Leo XIV published today a video message for the climate World Summit in Vienna, Austria. He called for a "just transition" to new economic models, urged wealthy nations to provide greater financial support, and advocated the development of a new international financial framework. All this is presented within the façade and language of Catholic social teaching and care for creation and the poor. Three key quotes, emphasis added. - "These challenges [peace, natural resources, climate change] require international cooperation, together with cohesive and forward-looking multilateralism in order to find effective solutions." - "It is not merely desirable but also genuinely possible that the progress at COP30 [United Nations’ climate summit] can be followed up with a just transition toward societies where the common good takes precedence over profit, and economic models are rooted in solidarity and human dignity. Yet, this requires wealthier countries to meet their obligations to …আরও

Which faith, except everyone do keep entire and inviolate, without doubt he will perish everlastingly. Now the Catholic Faith is this; that we worship One God in Trinity, and Trinity in Unity. Neither confounding the Persons, nor dividing the substance. For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, another of the Holy Ghost. Cardinal Camillo Ruini, an influential churchmen in Italy, died in Rome on the evening of June 16 at age 95. He had been hospitalized last September with kidney problems and, after an initial recovery, saw his condition worsen in recent weeks. He chose to remain at home under medical care. Born in Sassuolo, in the province of Modena, Ruini was ordained a priest in 1954. He became auxiliary bishop of Reggio Emilia-Guastalla in 1983 and secretary-general of the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI) in 1986. In 1991, Pope St. John Paul II appointed him to lead the Italian Bishops' Conference, named him Vicar General of Rome, and created him a cardinal. He held the Rome vicariate until 2008 and led the bishops’ conference until 2007. He became, for nearly two decades, one of the closest collaborators of both John Paul II and later Benedict XVI. His tenure as bishops’ president coincided with the collapse of the Democrazia Cristiana, the Christian Democratic party that had been the Church's …আরও
Leo XIV to the FSSPX: "Do Not Do This": On Tuesday evening in Castel Gandolfo, Pope Leo XIV was asked about the the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X (FSSPX). He replied: "We have invited them, and I am still considering making another appeal, saying: 'Do not do this. Let us try to live in communion within the Church.' But it is their choice. One must realize what it means for them and for the Church. Certainly, division among Christians is always something painful. However, they refuse to accept certain fundamental elements of the Church, beginning with several points of the Second Vatican Council. If they make that choice, I am sorry, but we must move forward."
